Floods can arise due to natural or man-made causes. Aside from causing catastrophic loss of lives and property, floods can also leave other harmful effects in their wake, including moss and mildew growth and contamination of drinking water. A case of flood damage in San Diego The Veterans Affairs hospital in La Jolla recently experienced massive flooding on September 29, 2015 when a broken sprinkler caused $5 million dollars’ worth of damage. Local VA officials were compelled to temporarily reshuffle patient care inside the medical center, because patient areas such as the women’s program, sleep clinic, substance-abuse treatment program, hemodialysis, lab administration, and blood draw areas were affected.
