Water Damage in San Diego Can Come from the Unlikeliest of Sources

Fire is one of the most destructive natural forces, as almost anything it touches can be turned to ash or melted. This is why homeowners need to protect their properties from any accidental risk of fire. Of course, fire is not the only thing homeowners should be worried about, as other natural elements can wreak havoc on homes as well. An article on the UT San Diego website, published January 3, 2015, details how a fire that started in one apartment unit in the Mission Valley area was thankfully brought under control before it could spread to other buildings. Although the conflagration was quelled, the unit had already suffered major damage from the fire. Worse, firefighting efforts to control the large flames were so concentrated that excess water flowed into the apartment unit below. The resulting flooding was so bad that firefighters wrote off the space as “inhabitable”.
